This book was written by a young woman Kathy Carlston who is a survivor of the Columbine shooting here in my home state. She was inspired by a speaker who came to the school after the tragedy. Kathy created this book to help LGBT youth have hope for their future. Coloring OUTside the Lines contains 54 single-sided pages full of activities and inspirational LGBT people.

Lesbian Coloring Books
This was clearly a work of love for the artists and writers of the Butch Coloring Book – and a much-needed homage to butches everywhere, many of whom have lived their lives in stealth and invisibility. Reading their stories and seeing their images was inspiring. Brave, fabulous folx who lived authentically and out loud – thank you so much for bringing them to life in such an amazingly creative way.Review from Jassy T.

What Does LGBTQ+ Stand For?
People often use LGBTQ+ to mean all of the communities included in the “LGBTTTQQIAA”:
+ Gender Queer
+ Gender Variant
LGBTQ is the more commonly used term in the community; possibly because it is more user friendly! You may also hear the terms “Queer Community” or “Rainbow Community” used to describe LGBTQ2+ people. This initialism and the various terms are always evolving so don’t try to memorize the list. The most important thing is to be respectful and use the terms that people prefer.
