Lip Balm Basic Recipe
- 2 tablespoons beeswax
- 2 tablespoons cocoa butter
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 10 drops of essential oils (I’ll share my favorites below)

Castor Oil – Before this, I just thought castor oil was something your mom made you drink when you were sick like in Tom Sawyer books.. but it actually is fabulous for your skin.
Sweet Almond Oil, Moisturizing Oil perfect for carrier oils particularly those you rub into your feet as it will help keep your feet soft.
It also works to moisturize your skin and hair. Grapeseed Carrier Oil. A Base Oil for Aromatherapy, Essential Oil or Massage use.
Coconut Oil (Fractionated) This means that this oil is liquid at room temperature rather than being solid. This is a Base Carrier Oil for Aromatherapy, Essential Oil or Massage use Vitamin E Oil

Glass Bottles are the best option for dispensing Essential Oils. The oils can deteriorate the plastic and of course we now know about microplastics coming from everywhere and entering our bodies and interrupting our systems so glass is king. BATH SALTS AND SALT SCRUB DIY RECIPES & SUPPLIES
Salt scrubs are fun and easy to make and particularly fun with the kids as you really can’t mess them up too much. You can mix and match and be creative as long as the add-ins aren’t hard on your skin. Google is your friend! If you follow these basic ratios you’ll be good to go
- 1 cup of sea salt: choose from any of the options listed below
- 1/4 cup of carrier oil: jojoba oil, olive oil, avocado oil, grapeseed oil and sweet almond oil work great. You can also use fractionated coconut oil.
- 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil: the list is endless but I really like lavender for relaxation, eucalyptus for a spa-like experience, lemon or other citrus essential oil (like grapefruit or Citrus Fresh) or your other favorite.
- 1 tbsp optional add-ins: This is where you can make it pretty. I like to get dried lavender flowers from my Natural Grocer store or here. I love the smell of almost so almond meal is great. coffee grinds, chamomile flowers and vitamin E oil will make it special. You could do rose oil with rose petals from your own garden. Marigold flowers really hold their color well so if you harvest those in the fall that would be fun too.
